Ala Ivie

with
Corbette: little female raven
With an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a passion for creative expression, Ala has honed her skills in acting, singing, dancing, composition and directing. Her versatility has led her to work with renowned artists, producers, and directors, further solidifying her reputation as a multifaceted talent. Her mantra is simple: to continuously push boundaries, defy conventions and inspire others to do the same. By embracing her Renaissance spirit, Ala Ivie is redefining the notion of artistic excellence, one masterpiece at a time.
At the age of 14, she endured a severe car accident that jeopardized her ability to stand as she suffered permanent nerve damage to her arms and legs. Despite being told by medical professionals that she would never walk without a cane or use stairs again, she refused to accept defeat. Upon returning home, she started crawling up the stairs. Turning weaknesses and trials into strengths and triumphs, she evolved into a marathon runner and a professional dancer, seamlessly integrating these physical arts into her music training. That car accident was the first of many trials, initiating her determination to obliterate obstacles, remain steadfast in becoming something greater and use life’s sour notes to create a symphony.
Despite setbacks, she has navigated the twists and turns with resilience and has achieved success on her own terms. From being offered a scholarship to Julliard in clarinet, to being a professional pianist as a freshman in college, composing music for commercials, working as a voice actress for major cartoons, collaborating with opera soloists from renowned opera companies around the world, Ala's journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Additionally, she has showcased her skills as a choreographer for Viacom/MTV as well as winning a city title and awards on a state level in the Miss America Organization.
The critics, who dismissed her, now applaud her talent. The dream that haunted her for so long has finally become a reality. She found her voice, and with it, a newfound confidence. She’s sure more trials will come her way. However, she is ready to face them and come out more refined. Her next pursuits include improving on the violin, the guitar and buying her husband a wicked-sweet accordion. Her Bucket List includes playing the cello, speaking Welsh and Japanese and being a skilled trapeze, wheel, pole, hoop acro dancer (even if she’s 70 years old by the time it happens, it may not be pretty, but she’ll get there).
One thing Ala has learned to be a constant in the arts is this: You must be steadfast in what is true or else you will fall. Ala knows where she stands, she knows what she stands for and she's in it for life.
"I've never seen a transformation like hers. She has a gift: natural instinct and she is not afraid to go after it. She brings music to life in all sorts of ways."
- C. Michael Perry
